5 local Places to eat in downtown Martin

When you drive through Martin, it may seem like any other small town. That is until you make it downtown! Historic Downtown is home to many locally-owned businesses from boutiques and antique stores to restaurants! Let’s talk about five locally-owned restaurants tucked away in downtown Martin!

First, let’s talk about the new kid on the block: CRAVE

CRAVE officially opened in November 2021, and has been providing the Martin community with a healthier restaurant option for two months now! From burrito bowls to veggie pizzas baked on a cauliflower crust, their menu consists of low-calorie, gluten free, and vegetarian options. Just ask, and they will alter many items on their menu to accommodate your needs!

The next stop on our little trip through downtown is Blue Oak Oyster Bar and Grill.

If you’re in the mood for fresh seafood, a hand-cut New York strip steak, or prime ribs, you HAVE to check out Blue Oak. Whether you’re in town for graduation, looking for a new date night spot or place to grab a drink with friends, they have something for everyone!

Every small town has that one Mexican restaurant everyone goes to, and in Martin it’s La Cabana.

They have a large menu of dishes that can be made to suit even the pickiest eaters. If you find yourself in town on Taco Tuesday, stop in for $1 tacos! This two-story restaurant is alive with a family-friendly atmosphere. Whether you’re there to watch the game, grab a marg, or go out for a nice family dinner, Cabana is a great option!

While you’re making your way downtown, stop in at Martin’s Coffee and Bakery for a specialty latte or coffee made with one of their signature roasts! If coffee isn’t your thing, they also have frappuccinos, hot and iced teas, lemonades, smoothies, and hot chocolate. Their lunch menu includes oven-toasted sandwiches, homemade chicken salad, and three choices of wrap to create your own cold-cut! They always have a yummy soup of the day, including their crowd-favorite cheesy tortellini, and if soup isn’t your thing you can choose from several different kinds of chips!

The last place on our little trip downtown is Blake’s BBQ. Blake started out selling Texas-style bbq from a food truck, and is now in the process of opening a brick and mortar in the heart of Martin! His menu includes Oat smoked meats, specials that vary day-by-day, and homemade desserts. Blake’s savory specials include ribs, turkey breast, brisket, and so much more! If you like weird food combinations, you have to try his Bacon Jam Deviled Eggs!
